Welcome and thank you for choosing Physicians Endoscopy Center (PEC) for your endoscopy needs. Please read the following important information about your visit.

  • Once your insurance information has been verified, a representative will call to inform you of your financial responsibility.
  • Verification of benefits is not a guarantee of payment by your insurance company. To inquire about your benefits, please email: HCBOinsuranceverifications@HCAHealthcare.com. They will respond to emails within 24 hours.
  • Your financial responsibility may change and you may receive a bill for the balance once your insurance company processes your claim. Do not use email address above for billing related questions, inquiries will not be answered.
  • In addition, there are several SEPARATE charges related to your procedure at PEC. These include:

If you made payment(s) towards your deductible before your procedure, please bring the receipt(s).

We will adjust your patient responsibility due accordingly.

PRE-PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Follow your physician's instructions for bowel preparation completely. Notify the assessment nurse if your bowel movements are not clear upon arrival. Do not drink anything 4 hours before your procedure or it may be delayed or rescheduled.
  2. If you take blood pressure or blood thinner medications, please ask your physician if it is ok to take them the morning of the procedure.
  3. If you are diabetic, please ask your physician about your diabetic medications. He/She can give you specific instructions for taking these medications.
  4. Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home 30 minutes following your procedure and to stay with you for 24 hours afterwards. You WILL NOT be able to drive yourself, take UBER/LYFT, or take a taxi cab home after your procedure. We urge you and your ride to add our center’s contact information on your phone “CONTACTS” list so a call is not missed because it is listed as “UNKNOWN” or “SPAM”.
  5. If you wear glasses, bring them with you as you will be asked to read and sign documents.
  6. If you wear dentures, do not glue them in place as you may be asked to remove these prior to going into the Procedure Room.
  7. Bring your driver’s license or photo identification, your insurance cards, method of payment, and your MOBILE PHONE with you. Leave all jewelry and other valuables at home. Remove all piercings prior to your arrival to PEC.
  8. Call your physician’s office if you have not received a designated time to arrive at PEC.
  9. Consult with a member of the Scheduling/Verification team to discuss your financial obligations prior to the day of your procedure.
  10. If you have questions regarding returning to school or activities, please ask your physician.
  11. If you have questions about the procedure, your preparation for it, or need to cancel, please call your physician’s office directly.
  12. Arrive at least 1 HOUR early to ensure your procedure begins on time.
  13. You may want to bring a light jacket with you as it may get cold in the waiting room.
  14. We no longer require COVID 19 testing prior to your scheduled procedure.

VISITORS

You are allowed to bring 1 visitor with you on the day of your procedure.

  • We strongly encourage your visitor/ride to stay on premises or within close proximity to our center. We do not have the space in our Recovery Room to keep you for long periods of time post procedure. We ask that you make arrangements for your ride to either stay onsite, or pick you up within 30 minutes of receiving a call that you are in Recovery.
  • No children under 12 are allowed in the clinical areas.
  • Recording devices are not to be used in the clinical areas.
